CampusLock uses GPS geofencing to automatically lock student devices the moment they step on campus — and unlocks them the moment they leave. No pouches. No hardware. No arguments.
CampusLock runs silently in the background. Students barely notice it's there — until they try to open a blocked app.
Log into the CampusLock dashboard, drop a pin on your school map, and drag to define the exact boundary. Done in under 2 minutes.
A lightweight app is installed on student devices — via MDM, a QR code, or a school email link. No IT specialist required.
When a student enters the geofenced zone, their device locks automatically per your policy. It unlocks when they leave — zero manual intervention.
Built with input from principals, IT directors, and teachers. Every feature solves a real problem.
Draw custom geofences of any shape — a single building, a whole campus, or multiple sites in one district policy. Accuracy down to 5 meters.
Build custom allow-lists and block-lists. Block social media, allow educational tools. Changes apply instantly across all enrolled devices.
Set different policies for different periods. Lunch, library time, exams — each can have its own app access level.
Teachers can request temporary unlocks for a student, a class, or a specific app. Admins approve in one tap. Every exception is logged.
Weekly reports for admins and district leaders. See which policies are working, which students need follow-up, and compliance trends over time.
In a lockdown, fire drill, or any emergency — a single button instantly unlocks all devices school-wide, or opens only the emergency services app. Safety always comes first.

CampusLock only checks whether a device is inside or outside the defined geofence boundary. It does not log, store, or share GPS coordinates. We process location on-device; no coordinates are ever sent to our servers. This design is intentional and is part of our FERPA compliance.
When a student powers off their device on campus, CampusLock logs the event and flags it as non-compliant. Admins see these events in the dashboard and can follow up with the student. We also detect SIM removal and airplane mode attempts.
When deployed via MDM (our recommended path), the app is protected from uninstallation at the OS level. For BYOD deployments, students can uninstall the app but doing so marks them as non-compliant and triggers an admin alert immediately.
Yes. CampusLock supports iOS 14+ and Android 10+. The feature set is identical across platforms. We support Apple MDM (via ADE/Apple School Manager) and Android Enterprise for bulk enrollment.
Most schools are fully live within one school day. Drawing the geofence takes under 2 minutes. MDM-based enrollment pushes the app to all devices overnight. For BYOD, students install via a QR code at homeroom — typically done in 5 minutes per class.
The exceptions system handles this gracefully. Admins can create permanent, per-student exceptions for specific apps (e.g., a medical monitoring app) without affecting the broader policy. Exceptions are tied to the student's profile and persist across all sessions.
Yes. CampusLock is fully FERPA compliant and SOC 2 Type II certified. We sign a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with every school district. Student data is never sold, shared, or used for advertising. Location data is processed on-device and never stored on our servers.
